To make the perfect Mulled Wine, simply add:

 750ml bottle of your favourite dry red wine (Merlot, Zinfandel or Cab-Sauv work best)
 1 orange slice
 1/4 cup honey, maple syrup or brown sugar
 1/4 cup Brandy or Cointreau for extra warmth and depth (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS: Remove Green Cardamom Pods from Mulled Wine Kit and gently bruise. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat (DO NOT BOIL). Once steaming, reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for at least 15–20 minutes, or up to 3 hours for a deeper flavour. Strain spices with a slotted spoon or through a fine mesh sieve. Ladle into heatproof mugs and serve.
