- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat
- Continue to cook the wine until it barely begins to simmer, however don’t let it bubble as it will begin to burn off the alcohol
- Reduce heat to low, and allow to simmer for a minimum of 15 minutes. (note, for a deeper flavor, you can allow to simmer for up to 3 hours)
- Serve warm in a heat proof mug or glass, and garnish with a slice of orange
